Based off the reports I've read, Audi expects to be the leader in luxury electric and hybrid vehicles by the year 2020. The only real competition in this space are Mercedes and Lexus. Infiniti, BMW, Acura, and other brands could produce hybrids or electric vehicles but they're small when compared to 2 of the biggest automakers, VW-Audi and Toyota-Lexus. Right now, their only model is the Audi A6 hybrid and Q5 hybrid which were just introduced for 2012 so how do they intend to claim dominance? Audi has a few upcoming models like the R8 supercar in electric version, e-tron sports coupe, and other testbeds which could preview future models. Audi's main line is the Audi A4, Audi A6, and Audi A8 so we could expect to see hybrid or electric models in these as well. The Audi A4 is the staple of Audi's line so you can expect to see a hybrid Audi A4 or electric Audi A4 sometime in the future as well.
