Well I finally had the chance to test drive the Porsche Cayenne Diesel. Haven't yet driven the hybrid yet because these aren't the types of cars they just let you test drive for a week It's also not a very common car to find sitting on the dealer lot. My thoughts. The biggest obstacle is the price. The price of the hybrid vs. diesel is $14,000 more. While you get a sportier car with similar fuel economy, is it worth $14,000 more? That amount of money can buy a lot of fuel, whether it be gasoline or diesel. The VW Touareg hybrid isn't a strong seller so far and I've heard of people getting over $10,000 off MSRP and 0% financing for a few years. This is an incredible deal and while the Touareg hybrid is also more expensive than the Touareg diesel, that discount makes the hybrid much more attractive.
